MyLiveChat – Free Live Chat & AI Chatbot

აღწერა

MyLiveChat adds a live chat widget to your WordPress site. Visitors click the chat button and reach you directly; you answer from a browser, desktop app or mobile app.

The plugin stores your MyLiveChat Site ID and outputs the chat code on your pages. Chat itself runs on MyLiveChat’s servers, so there is nothing to host and nothing to keep patched.

What you get

  • Live chat on every page, or only the pages you choose
  • Visitor monitoring – see who is on the site, which page, and where they came from
  • Proactive chat invitations by page, time on page or scroll depth
  • An optional AI assistant trained on your own content, with handoff to a human
  • Transcripts and offline messages for anything that arrives out of hours

Customer support without a help desk to run

Chats arrive in a console that works like an inbox: departments route a question to the right
people, canned responses save the answers you type every day, and a chat can be transferred to a
colleague mid-conversation. Visitors can send files, and you can send them back. Anything that
arrives while you are offline becomes a message with the visitor’s email address on it, so nothing
is lost between one working day and the next.

A help centre inside the chat window

Your own articles are searchable from the widget, so the common questions are answered before
anyone waits for a person. The same articles feed the AI assistant, which means the answers it
gives are yours rather than invented.

Built for a WooCommerce shop

The chat code loads site-wide, so it covers shop, product, cart and checkout pages. Visitor
monitoring shows which product someone is looking at while you are talking to them, and a
proactive invitation can be aimed at the checkout page alone – the page where an unanswered
question costs an order.

Speaks your customers’ language

The chat window itself is translated into forty languages and follows the visitor’s own setting,
so a German or Indonesian visitor reads the widget in their language with nothing to configure.
Chats can also reach you through Telegram or LINE if you would rather answer from an app you
already have open.

Your data

Chat history is kept on the MyLiveChat side so you do not carry it in your WordPress database,
and the widget has a setting to keep visitor chat data out of the browser’s local storage for
sites that would rather it was not there.

Pricing

One agent is free forever, with unlimited chats and unlimited websites. Paid plans start at $15 per month and add seats, remove the “Powered by MyLiveChat” badge, and allow a custom chat icon and header. The AI assistant is an optional add-on.

External service

This plugin is a client for the MyLiveChat hosted service at https://www.mylivechat.com. Activating the widget loads a script from mylivechat.com and, once a chat starts, from the MyLiveChat subdomain assigned to your account. Chat messages and the visitor context shown to your agents are processed by that service.

An account is required. You can create one from the plugin’s settings screen or at https://www.mylivechat.com/register.aspx

ხდკ

Is it free?

One agent is free forever, with unlimited chats and unlimited websites, and no credit card. Paid plans start at $15 per month.

Do I need to edit theme files?

No. The plugin outputs the chat code for you. Do not also paste the MyLiveChat snippet into your theme, or you will get two chat launchers.

Does it work with a caching plugin?

Yes, but purge the cache after saving your Site ID, and exclude MyLiveChat from any “delay JavaScript” or “defer all scripts” rule.

Does it work on a WooCommerce store?

Yes. The code loads site-wide, so it covers shop, product, cart and checkout pages.

Will it slow my site down?

The chat script loads asynchronously and does not block rendering.

Where is my chat data stored?

On MyLiveChat’s servers. See the privacy policy linked in the description.

The chat button does not appear

Check that the Site ID is saved, purge every cache including your CDN, and disable script-delay rules while you test. If your site sends a Content Security Policy, allow https://*.mylivechat.com in both script-src and frame-src.

Can I use it on a WooCommerce store?

Yes, and the checkout page is the one worth aiming a chat invitation at. The code loads site-wide,
so shop, product, cart and checkout pages are all covered without extra configuration.

Does the chat window speak languages other than English?

Yes. The widget ships in forty languages and follows the visitor’s own language setting. Your own
replies are still written by you.

Can several people answer chats?

Yes. Extra agents are part of the paid plans; departments decide who a question reaches first, and
a chat can be transferred to a colleague while it is still open.

What happens to chats that arrive while nobody is online?

They become offline messages with the visitor’s email address, and the transcript is kept, so you
can answer the next morning rather than lose the enquiry.

Does the AI assistant answer on its own?

Only if you turn it on. It answers from your own help articles and content, and hands the
conversation to a person when it cannot help or when the visitor asks for one.

Can I remove the MyLiveChat branding?

Yes, on the paid plans, which also allow your own chat icon, URL and widget header.

Okay, so its says 'It is 100% Free!' It's not as you have to pay for 'upgrades' and, just another way to harvest your emails.

Created account, Installed plugin, Installed app on android … and i have problem… can't login with my account credentials. Then i login with my agent credentials. and it worked like a charm. Tested this with two simultaneous chat sessions, one from PC, other from a second mobile, whereas android app was installed on my own phone. worked like a charm. Thanks a lot for this wonderful solution to Live Chat.

In the middle of chat sessions with customers, we would get messages like "MyLiveChat has stopped working" or "Connection to the chat server failed. Trying to reconnect" or “Cannot Connect to the chat server”. We would basically be forced to close down and try to reopen. Reopening would have it's own set of problems – requiring us to download again. Totally losing our chat sessions (imagine how upset this would make our customers). If you are going to give them a shot, I recommend going month by month instead of paying for months in advance. We paid for 6 months in advance and realized after the 1st real test run that it wasn’t stable enough to use with real customers and they wouldn’t refund us (even for the unused time). They insist that all the network issues were on our end (although we had top notch IT staff helping us troubleshoot and everything else running through our network was perfect). I’ve written several emails and contacted their chat several times with no response. We are just going to have to eat the $359 we wasted on this software. We did find another software that isn’t too expensive and it’s worked wonderful so far.

ცვლილებები

2.1.7

  • When the check confirms the chat code is live, the screen now says what has to happen next: sign in to the agent console, because the chat button is on your site but nobody is behind it until someone does, and then start a chat with yourself from your own site. Chats that arrive with nobody signed in become offline messages with the visitor’s email address, and the screen says so rather than leaving it to be discovered.
  • The settings screen now checks whether the chat code is really on your site instead of only saying that a Site ID is stored. It loads your front page the way a visitor would and looks for the code; if it is missing you get the three things that actually cause it — a cache serving a page from before you saved the ID, a “delay JavaScript” rule eating the script, or a theme that never calls wp_footer() — and a button to check again. If the check itself cannot reach your site, which is common on hosts that block such requests, it says so rather than claiming the widget is missing.
  • The plugin asks, once, whether you would leave a review on WordPress.org. It appears only for administrators, only on the MyLiveChat screens and the Plugins list, only when a Site ID has been saved and working for 30 days, and never while the email-confirmation notice is still up. Answering it in any way — including “No thanks” — ends it for good; there is no reminder that comes back. Ratings are how the plugin directory decides what to show people, and nothing in the plugin had ever asked.
  • Records when the Site ID was first saved, which is what that 30-day wait is measured from. Deleting the plugin removes it, along with the answer to the review question.

2.1.6

  • Listing only, no code change: renamed to “MyLiveChat – Free Live Chat & AI Chatbot”, and the tags now read live chat, livechat, free live chat, chat, chatbot. The old name spent twenty characters on “Plugin for WordPress”, which nothing in the plugin directory searches for, and the AI assistant the plugin has shipped for some time was not named anywhere a merchant would look.

2.1.5

  • Fixes a fatal error that made the plugin unusable on PHP 8. Version 2.1.4 registered the email-confirmation reminder against admin_notices but never shipped the method it pointed at; the 2.1.4 rewrite of the settings screen removed the method and left the registration behind. 2.1.2 and 2.1.3 are not affected — both were checked on PHP 8.2 and neither raises the error. On PHP 7 an invalid callback was only a warning, so the reminder simply never appeared; on PHP 8 it raises a TypeError, and because admin_notices runs on every admin page the whole WordPress dashboard showed “There has been a critical error on this website”. If you installed the plugin and your admin went blank, this was why — updating fixes it, and nothing on your site or your MyLiveChat account was affected.
  • The reminder described in 2.1.3 works again: administrators see it on admin pages until the account email is confirmed, and it can be dismissed.

2.1.4

  • The settings screen is now fully translatable. Every visible string goes through the text domain and a languages/my-live-chat-for-wp.pot template ships with the plugin, so it can be localised the way the chat widget already is.
  • Removed the inline onclick attributes and the inline script that fixed up the two dropdowns after the page rendered. The selected option is now marked server-side, so there is no flash of the wrong value and the screen works under a Content Security Policy that disallows inline script.
  • Accessibility: the settings table used td scope=”row” for its row headers, where scope has no effect. They are th scope=”row” now, so screen readers announce the label with each field.

2.1.3

  • New accounts created from the settings screen are inactive until the emailed link is clicked, but the chat widget goes live immediately — so visitors could start chats that nobody was able to answer, with only a one-line hint on a screen the admin had already left. A reminder now appears on every admin page until the email is confirmed, explaining what is and is not working and how to get a fresh link. It is dismissible, and only administrators see it.

2.1.2

  • Fixed: MyLiveChatAdmin shared its singleton storage with its parent class, so whichever ran first decided the type both returned. Any request that touched the admin and front-end paths together could get the wrong object back.
  • Added a “Settings” link to the plugin’s row on the Plugins screen. The previous attempt was registered against the global plugin_action_links filter, which would have added the link to every other plugin’s row, and had been left disabled; it now uses the per-plugin hook.
  • Added uninstall cleanup, so deleting the plugin removes its six options instead of leaving them in the database forever. Multisite deletes are handled per site.
  • Fixed: the MYLIVECHAT_VERSION constant still said 2.1.1 while the plugin header said 2.1.2. It is used to bust the cache on the admin CSS and JavaScript, so an upgrade could leave stale assets loaded.
  • Output escaping is now applied at every point of use rather than when the value is assigned, so the escaping is visible where the output happens.
  • Added the missing text domain to a translatable string, and a guard around a superglobal index read.
  • Documented why the two request reads on the settings screen need no nonce: they only choose which confirmation notice to display.
  • The plugin header name now matches the name in readme.txt, so the two can no longer drift.

2.1.1

  • Request data is now unslashed and passed through sanitize_text_field() before the existing digit filter and whitelists are applied.
  • The Site ID is escaped on output as well as being restricted to digits on input.
  • Removed a debug-only call that changed PHP’s global error_reporting() level.
  • Admin permission messages are now translatable.
  • Minimum supported PHP raised to 7.4.

2.1.0

  • Security: the settings-save and settings-reset handlers now require the manage_options capability and a valid nonce. Previously either action could be triggered by any authenticated user, or cross-site against an administrator.
  • Security: the admin menu is registered against the manage_options capability instead of the administrator role name.
  • Hardening: the Site ID is restricted to digits and length-capped; display type and position are validated against a fixed list before they are stored.
  • Hardening: added direct-access guards so plugin files cannot execute when requested directly.
  • Housekeeping: completed the plugin header (License, Requires at least, Requires PHP, Text Domain), moved all URLs to https, and rewrote this readme.

2.0.4

  • New installations default to the visible floating Chat Widget so a successful setup never appears blank.
  • Account creation is single-flight and preserves the exact password entered while explaining the no-spaces policy.

2.0.3

  • Prevented duplicate Chat Widget bootstraps, made asset URLs work when the plugin folder is renamed, and moved front-end CSS into the WordPress enqueue system.

2.0.2

  • Restored the settings-page signup controls, kept signup passwords out of URLs, and explained email verification after account creation.

2.0.1

  • Improved readme. Added the support forum link.

2.0.0

  • In-page chat window UI. Web and Mac agent consoles.

1.0.2

  • Rewrote the plugin code.

1.0.0

  • First release.
